That "for a while, yet" could be only 2-3 months out and you might note that Conroe & Co ARE new architectural designs. That would mean that Conroe & Co ARE across the entire architectural line, so I don't get your point. Woodcrest comes first.

Intel's process looks great. Witness the reduction to 65w on "old" P4s and 3.3GHz. I doubt AMD is going to be significantly better. I'd say, the same.

It appears that AMD's mobile parts are waiting for 65nm, and having problems. Then, they have to compete with Core Duo that beats AMD DT parts. I hope Turion X2 can beat AMD's own DT parts...Then comes Merom.

You might note that the "middle" of the market just got reduced as a result of the Intel price cuts just to grab all the market share they can before Conroe & Co. Then, I guess the pricing goes up. Either that, or a whole new price point.

Intel already announced bad results for Q2 and the stock barely moved. Tells you a lot has been priced in. Intel appears to be stockpiling for the Q3,4 release so it should be something. I guess the difference is that I think AMD could sell everything that they could make, as you say, given the same old thing from Intel. But that's not happening. Then there's the price cuts, that's happening too.

What I don't get is the complacent view that AMD will just keep rising especially in light of no competitive products. Oh, I know, wait for June.
