deeno, don't forget that a significant portion of gas/fuel
is due to imposed state taxes. States will offset the loss
of direct fuel tax revenues by increasing license fees and/or
imposing annual milage driven fees to make up for the
tax revenues lost. So it doesn't matter if fuel is $1 or $5
the consumer will not really benefit from an operational
expense point of view. Yep, you will get 30mpg, but the
initial savings will just be reallocated in some other
imposed tax program. Net/Net it is a wash.
