I too have a phone card in addition to a cell phone. Never know when you may need it, and especially since I have roaming charges turned off at the company....Don't even want to be tempted.

Your need and use is why they are good, and anyone in that situation should do the same. I was thinking of a Tracphone for that...You pay one time and no monthly bills, The time runs out and you re charge it. Think it's $20 at KMart or whereever.

Seems that so many are used as a extension of a tin can and a string, such a waste of use.

Example, the people in a grocery store...
"dear what kind of butter did you want?"

Another guys addiction to the damn thing...
He packs it in a plastic baggie to take with him on his Water Ski thingie at the shore....

Used to be that the so called "important people"... you know who I mean...need to be "in touch"....so they had a beeper....ohh we were sposed to be all impressed... he must be soooooo important... HS... all ego.... now it's a new fangled latest greates cell phone....

By the way..how does a cell phone manufacturer make a profit?? they give the things away with the signup.
