qwik shift now and put on your high finance hat and take off your wow this is cool neat and hot hat. the CN&H stuff represents from a price standpoint, a small fraction of the stuff it is replacing. I have harped on this a long time. most every company eventually faces the reality that what you once sold no longer is desired and you have to sell something that is. Sun made the mistake of recognizing way way too that the market wanted different products than big sparq boxes on Solaris. in tech if you fall behind its hard to catch up. so sun will for a long long time face an uphill battle of trying to replace high cost product that nobody wants with low cost product that they do. this is the SGI problem and they are going bankrupt. this is why they bought stk because buying this no growth company was better than watching the decay going on in the core business. So yes you are right when you wear your JS blogger cool man wow amd hat. They DO have some way cool stuff for sale. But you need to put that finance hat on too. And that hat will tell you that this is a terrible problem. notice the market. the market has it down. it heard JS say NO big layoffs. market says we don't agree. eventually JS will agree with the market. Only this guy wears your hat!!! they need a guy like Mark Hurd to come in with a FRESH look and no ties to the past. Someone who doesn't know the stories of the single mother ADMINS with kids in school. sun micro has a $17b market cap and NO earnings. They need $1b of earnings to justify that market cap. That's how nuts the price of sun micro is right now. regards and put on your HIGH FINANCE HAT now and again.. ;-)
