For some reason, most of the incumbent conservative political leadership had a massive brain infarct and forgot how markets work where energy is concerned. I think their descent into the Washington power sinkhole is virtually complete. This is evidenced by voting subsidies for oil companies then investigating them for gouging and talking about windfall taxes.

Utterly bankrupt and dysfunctional.
