how does China "maintain" the value of its currency vs. the dollar without manipulation?

If the exchange rate is not determined by the free market, it is manipulation.

To me, that is fraudulent, illegal trade and shouldn't be tolerated.

but the usa is very definitely trying with diligence to cheapen the usd, as in manipulating, but as the administration is incompetent in war, it is equally unable to manage a guided implosion of the currency, and so we wait for the implosion of the sudden and unguided sort

in the meantime, capital flight from china has commenced, and so rmb can easily drop against the dollar
