No, it doesn't kumar. CA is heavily Dem, and tends to vote that way. Our gas is nearly that high here....within pennies away....PLUS CA has all sorts of boutique gases to contend with....

I pay $3.14/gallon in CA. Are you aware that in CA you're paying a sales tax on fuel on top of state and federal gas taxes? The higher the price of gas, the more tax that CA collects. At a, say, 9% sales tax rate, when gas is a buck a gallon, the state gets 9 cents. With gas at 3 bucks a gallon, the sales tax is 27 cents per gallon.
