She worries about all humanity and always fights for the little guy. Both my daughters are great humanitarians and I am very proud of them and love them both very much. Emily wants to spend her life helping the poor and I know she will. She is interested in renewable energy. She started out majoring in physics, then chemistry and steeled on environmentl science. I just returned from a month in New Zealand with her. We traveled the whole Island, but spent most the time on Coppers Beach and the magnificent "90 mile beach". I had spent 6 months in New Zealand 20 years ago-on Coppers Beach. I was on my way to immigrate to Australia in 1968 (I had been accepted) to teach school and then never got out of Alaska. Kiwi's are the best people in the world! A couple of funny stories: I met a women, on the eferry crossing to Wellington, who is an anthropological physician? Who also works at the university in Auckland. We had a nice, but too brief visit! When I first got to Duniden (Dec) I wanted to play poker, but I was so tired from the trip, so I slept for 14 hours and then the next day I went over to the casino. What a pretty little town!! I am a pretty good poker player (not bragging just lots of years of study). Anyway, I go in and sit down and the guy next to me Andreas Penckwitt (very very nice guy) and I start talking a bit. I asked him what he did and he said he taught finances at the university in Duniden where my daughter is studying. He had immigrated from Germany. Anyway, I had had a displeasing converstion with a pedantic computer engineer from England on the plane trip down who condesendingly told me that computer encryption would always stay ahead of computer technology. I had mentioned that a quantum computer could blow through any non quantum encryption and whoever developed the quantum computer first could decimate any countries encryption in the world e.g. China could get into our missle computers. So, without knowing much about Andress I start discussing quantum physics and finances as both subjects facinate me. Then in a matter of fact way Andress informs me he also has a PHD in Physics-lol; and that a quantum computer could blow through any non quantum encryption. Boy, if I could find that guy-lol. I also asked him about "spooky action at a distance": and without lifting his head said: "just a function of the quantum wave action"-lol. Of course, I thought-lol. Anyway I won $1,000 each day of the first three days (so emily and I had some mad money-ll) and Andress broke even. He is just learning and am teaching him bits and pieces over the internet. The game was quite easy, but the house rake was way too high. Andress and I became great friends and still communicate via email. I am planning to go down to australia in the fall and Andress and I will play poker in Autralia. If I make a ton in the metals I will back his play for 1/2 the action, I absorb all loses. I felt bad, on the last night I played there he had a beautiful hand, aces over queens. The only thing that could beat him was four queens. He raised a bit too many times, and I of course had the four queens, so he broke even again. He still drove me home each night after play. New Zealand is a sweet country and Auckland the finest city in the world that I know of. You are very lucky. What do you teach or do at the university? Cheers Chuck
