This thread has got to do with Bush and not Republicans or Democrats. Folks tend to make BUsh and the US synonymous and they say that hating Bush is hating US, which is not true. People like BUsh come and go but the USA goes on.

As this thread says Don't blame me.... for the actions of Bush; doesn't say about the actions of Republicans.

>>I do recall that Chalabi had some charges for fraud against him in I think Jordan....was he convicted...don't know...yet.<<

Lorne -

Yes, he was convicted in Jordan after being tried in absentia.

Sure, there is corruption on both sides of the aisle. Yet I do think there's a difference in degree between Bush promoting Chalabi as the leader of Iraq and Clinton being involved in a campaign event with a guy who later turns out to be a con artist.

Wrong. Bush isn't "making mistakes" he's making his corrupt moves intentionally, the way he wants to, along with Cheney.

So letting an indicted fraud artist like Chalabi control the Iraqi oilfields along with proven fraudulent gougers Halliburton is exactly what Bush wants. It's not a mistake. Supporting Bush-Cheney was the mistake. And you're guilty of it.
