*higher attach rate for WCDMA transceivers than they do for CDMA transceivers.*

what does that mean, attach rate?

The attach rate is the percentage of handset manufacturers that choose to use a Qualcomm transceiver (or separate transmit and receive chips) to go along with the baseband chipset.

I'm probably skating on thin ice with my knowledge of this stuff since I have never looked at it closely....but Skyworks seems to offer CDMA transmit and receive chips.

I would guess that Qualcomm's attach rate is probably already pretty high, but with WCDMA/HSDPA it might be near 100%. The rapidly evolving standards and integration probably makes it very difficult for any third parties to develop competing products.
