Matter of fact the byproduct of the kernel is what is used in making ethanol. Doesn't affect your food costs at all. BTW, corn is going for about $2.27 a bu in 2006 dollars, in 1900 it was going for $2.00 in 1900 dollars. In 1900 you could buy a two story house for $1,000. When you spend $5.00 for that next box of Corn Flakes, there's 25 cents worth of corn in it.
