Re: On the CPU side, just judging by the hurt this game puts on $1000+ graphics cards, I think just about any modern processor will do fine. Yep, Oblivion is extremely video card limited except at low resolutions. FiringSquad put together an excellent review on Oblivion CPU performance using several Athlon 64/FX/X2 processors and a X1900XTX video card. At 800x600 a 2.4GHz X2 4800+ was about as fast as a 2.8GHz FX-57. At 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 there was no difference in performance among any of the CPUs. firingsquad.com
