If I were in the market today, I would probably stick to 1280 x 1024 since the currently available wide screens lose a bit of real-estate and the most reasonably priced models only have analog connectors. There is a pretty cheap Sceptre 19" widescreen with DVI, but I've heard too many bad things of the brand. Among the regular aspect ratio 19" LCDs, right now I'd have to give serious consideration to the Tyris model at newegg for $189 (not a familiar brand, but 5 stars with a pretty good number of ratings) or the Rosewill R912E for $212 (again 5 star with a lot of ratings. All prices are after rebate plus shipping. By the way, I know that neweggs ratings are biased high due to culling the most negative reviews, but that's why for certain things (especially monitors) I will only consider models with 5 stars and plenty of ratings. Though I am pleased with my purchase of the monitor, I am by no means loyal to the brand. The primary driver for the purchase was best value for high performance. The first hour or so of use, to be quite honest, sucked until I found the settings that made everything (don't even remember what I changed anymore). But, I knew that was going to happen from reading the reviews. My apologies to the board for the off-topic discussion, but I don't have the ability to PM. Eric P.S. If it helps, I still have all of my shares, which I intend to keep at least until I hear clarification on 65nm progress and K8L in June. If it starts to sound a little too much like Athlon XP, I'll bail out of that, otherwise I'll continue to hold. I'm currently out of all options positions, but had made a very nice return up until march, and have a goodly bit of cash in reserve. I don't have the time to do a lot of investment research, so I tend to stay focused on a very few things and trade what I know. If things look decent going forward, I'll probably pick up some January calls around July/August for the fall runup. It worked very well last year....just ask the taxman.
