Ref:I think the answer will be wafer-sized arrays of flash memory providing 150GB or so storage, and no moving parts except for perhaps the keyboard. These could be assembled and tested by machine.

Are these out there? Coming soon? Pricing?

That's going to take another BIG drop in flash memory pricing, might take awhile but who knows. I have read that with Vista you will be able to get more laptop battery life because manufacturers will be using a hard drive/flash memory combo so that the drive will not spin as often. Nice idea, and some say it could mean another half hour of battery life.
