In the server business, most companies like to evaluate a new architecture for a year or more before switching over to ensure their software runs properly. Which is why the adoption rate of Opteron was glacial at first, but then accelerated pretty swiftly. Hence my point/question...in the PPC space incumbency is very tough to overcome, so I project to some extent this experience to the most lucrative and longer cycle(d) of the x86 clents, which also happen to be the most lucrative. I am not sure here...just noting that analysts tend to oversimplify these things. Al
