At the end of August, right before harvest, we'll still have 2.3 billion bushels of surplus corn in storage. That's billions and each bushel weighs 60 pounds and produces 2.7 gallons of ethanol per bushel. That's over 6 billion gallons just in the surplus and we're still getting the animal feed out of the grain. Then during harvest we'll add ANOTHER 11 billion bushels.

With the research on new enzymes, I'm seeing a day when cities have collection points for grass clippings and such to use to make ethanol.
