Chris there's got to be a different way than flat out stopping free speech around the time of elections.

Best way to do it would be that elections cost $500k and each candidate gets 5 mins a week on each major TV network. That's it. We should rework how people get elected fromt eh bottom up. Start by cutting out all the money and all the publicity BS. 4 or 5 debates on the TV, and a strict budget for the campaign party. Anyone else advertising for a candidate must identify themselves as an interested third party and not affiliated with the party being promoted.

All the BS that gets spewed around election time means zero to me. I would have not have voted for Kerry ever. The swift boat guys made no never mind to me. There were just like Kerry, white noise on the political landscape. He had nothing to offer, neither did they.
