We got new windows and sliders a few years ago. Brand new screens on everything including the sliding doors. FIRST week, the Black Lab we have been long time babysitting for our son, tried to get into the house, but the BRAND NEW screen was in the way. Easy, just put his paw on it, and slid it down....BIG tear... It's still torn. Got the new screening...but don't know how to fix it myself, and he...well, he hasn't seen to find enough time to fix it. My guess is he doesn't know how either. If your friends puts screening in, tell him to make sure it is easy (as in EASY) to repair or put new screening in....
