Ed Gillespie was both Enron's chief PR operative and Bush-Cheney's campaign operative at the same time. After the horrid energy gouging campaign against the West Coast which Bush-Cheney lied about and supported, Gillespie was promoted to be head of Bush's RNC. Every single company involved in the 2000-2001 energy gouging has strong and long-time connections to Bush-Cheney and they were all colluding, price-fixing and working together without competition. That was all because of deregulation, which has always been a priority for Bush-Cheney and their pals. Deregulation means no rules, no oversight and freedom to gouge away.
