how Clinton created the prosperity of the 90's.

For one thing, He and Al Gore promoted the internet.
Proprietary networks like Novell and Compuserve gave way to compatible standards.
There were many calling for the administration to privitize, or censor, or otherwise ruin the internet before it really got started.

"one Dem explain to me how Clinton created the prosperity of the 90's."

He didn't CREATE it, but he fostered it, and didn't screw it up. All we really need in a President.

Clinton and Rubin ran a fiscally responsible government that lived within it's means. Clinton had a line-item veto for a brief time, but Clinton's real power came from the outright vetoing of appropriations laden with pork. Remember him "shutting down the government" several times? Finally, Clinton, along with Gingrich, negotiated "paygo" rules for appropriations, where ANY spending had to be paid for with TAXES.

Business was stimulated by the soundness and stability of the Clinton policies, even through the circus of the Monica witchhunt. Wonderful business growth with no tax cuts or deficit "stimulus" needed.

Then, the chimp Caesar got elected...

Ted, I've yet to see one Dem explain to me how Clinton created the prosperity of the 90's. He was dealt two face cards; Bush was dealt a 16 and decided to hit.

Hey, one of the best ways to have a great economy is to have a stable gov't, running things smoothly, balancing the budget and reducing the debt, and doing positive things. It gives a people a certain confidence.

It took Clinton 4 years to get everything in true sync......and then a critical mass was hit and the country took off. One major key.......getting people off welfare. Yeah, yeah, yeah.......I know......the GOP has their contract with America but it was the Clinton administration that successfully implemented the plan.

Clinton brought people into the gov't who knew what they were doing and wanted to make a difference. Unless you are a student of gov't you can't begin to understand how well Clinton did things. He wasn't perfect and he had the GOP constantly at his back ready to chew him up......but he did it. And they hated him for it.

Its why I can't help but want Bush out. He had a silver platter handed to him and he's all but trashed it.
