"If you were grossly obese" -- but is the world suffering from an excess of CO2?

It may be that plans to combat it by reducing CO2 emissions will be disastrously expensive, and/or ineffective (and possibly unnecessary).

It would be like you were grossly obese, I don't think you need a scientific study to tell you that reducing food intake would be a good idea even though it may be a negative and omitting intake of vital nutrients may kill you.

If your obese a particular diet might not be a good idea. It might be unhealthy, it might be ridiculously expensive, or it might even be unnecessary as you might lose the weight through exercise and a less formal restraint on what you eat.

Also the situation with global warming is a lot less certain and precise then with obesity.
