First of all Hitler was very clear in Mein Kampf so you are wrong about that. As for Mad, conventional wisdom says it worked well. But do you remember the Cuban Missile Crisis? We came so very close and it wasnt until the red phone era that followed along with the realzation on both sides on how close total world destruction had come did folks back off. There is no red phone in Tehran and they dont have the reality check in place that the US and Soviets got back in 1962. And the US may have forgotten the lesson, given the preemp;tion doctrine and our status as the worlds only superpower.

On one level it did, because it [MAD] prevented any direct attack upon the US.

That was the whole point of MAD. It was a complete success. If you load everyone to the gills in the mid-east, they have the same success strategy.

So I guess you're alternative solution is to just sit back, let them obtain nukes, and basically let them have their way, no matter how many people are likely to lose their lives in the future as Ahmadinejad ushers in the advent of the Mahdi, right??

Some solution... But what should I have expected, right??

I'm not surprised that you came up with that guess. It's wrong, but that never stopped you before.

No.. this guy is potentially even MORE evil. I don't recall Hitler, prior to his invasion of Poland, threatening to wipe another nation off the face of the map.

Horse putz. Hitler and Stalin are in competition for the most evil modern world leaders. Pol Pot was evil, but a piker. President of North Korea is evil, but another little fish compared to Hitler and Stalin. It would be interesting to have a debate about whether the world would have been better off if we teamed with Hitler [obviously before Pearl Harbor] rather than Stalin. Too complicated for a thread discussion. Germany gets Europe, Japan gets Asia and the US ends up with the Americas.

As far as threatening to wipe another country off the face of the map, Nikita Kruschev comes pretty close when he pounded his shoe on the table at the UN and said "We will bury you." That's pretty provocative.

I'm sure the children of our nation will appreciate your cavalier demeanor since they will likely be the ones who have to fight the battle you were unwilling to do anything to prevent.

Bush is pretty cavalier about looking for those unaccounted for chemical and biological weapons. He doesn't care where they are or who has them. I guess our children will have to deal with that later.
