Italian Transport Workers Stage Eight-hour Strike

(first chile copper workers, then mexican mine workers, arrest of ny transport worker for that strike, now this - who do these WORKERS think they are after all? hehe - arent they just tools of the capitalists for more profit?)

ROME (AP)--Thousands of Italian transport workers staged an eight-hour strike Friday that idled bus networks, trams and subways across the country, unions said.

The walkout was called by the transport units of the country's three main unions, and schedules of the strike varied from place to place.

In Rome, the walkout started at 0630 GMT, while in Milan it began 15 minutes later. The workers are in contract renewal talks.
