What I'm getting at is "Conroe on 65nm" is anything but a slam dunk either in terms of volume production and/or performance leadership. Very little impact likely in either Q3 or Q4. In fact, a $2B Q4 by AMD isn't unlikely amidst all this Conroe hype, which, if attained by AMD, should restore some perspective on the real "Conroe effect".

I've heard the sizzle, now let's see the steak...Sure hope for INTC's sake that the steak isn't overdone.

You thought correctly. It's the same 65nm process. What NG might mean is that NGA is a new design that takes many years to mature.
