No not at all.

I'll try to explain by describing what my husband built.

He made two triangles out of wood with approx 2'x2'x2' sides. He attached a 2 1/2' steel bar between the two. We then bought a clam grip, line and a harness. He attached the clam grip in the middle of the steel bar. Then he attached a handle to one end of the line and tied the harness to the other end. To use it, I lay on the floor underneath the device on top of the harness. I strap myself into the harness (it uses velcro)at the lower back, and pull the line, which raises my lower back off of the floor, and insert it into the clam grip to secure it. I only hang for 10 minutes. What this does is separate my vertebra and relieves the pressure. The effects last about a week. I could send you a picture if you want..
