Agree with that too, JK. We didn't know the schools didn't teach "basic business" in the 9th grade like we had....items like simple and compound interest, checkbooks, credit cards and how they work, etc, are NOT part of the class load anymore, it seems.

Neither is American History part of every year of school...in fact, the kids have a bit in the 5th grade, a smattering in the civics part of the 8th grade, and a semester in the 11th grade.

NO wonder they don't have any idea of the blood, sweat, and tears it took to build this country. Parents and Grandparents everywhere should check with the Superintendent of Schools in their District...check and see what the classes are, and are not.

See where basic supply and demand is taught. When do they learn about commodities, and countries who own various minerals, oil, chemicals that other countries want? When do they learn about companies, and how companies are started? Who funded them in the first place?

It's too bad that DECA isn't a class, not just an outside interest group.

Or is all just fun, games, and sex ed?
