Now we know CIA analysts gave the White House intel saying there were probably no WMD in Iraq at all. Bush's people dismissed the intel and buried it. The CIA analyst I read about says he was told "this isn't about WMD, it's about regime change", which means the whole charade about the UN and WMD was a big fake-out on the American people and congress. Bush was hellbent on invading no matter what. Probably for the oilfields for his cronies. But Rove also knew he could use the war as a political club to steal the 2002 elections and avoid Democratic subpoena powers, so corruption could continue non-stop.
