Bush is the one for amnesty. He calls it "guest workers", a program which would be almost impossible to organize and enforce. He agrees with Ted Kennedy not to arrest illegals, but for opposite reasons. Bush wants to exploit cheap labor and also keep American wages low with poor health care, shipping many of our best jobs off to China. Kennedy wants to treat the illegals like human beings.

Two almost opposite viewpoints with similar solutions, reject the far right's 700 mile fence and arrest of some 11 million people, which would not work either but would cost tens of billions we can't afford becuse Bush has overspent and borrowed more than we can withstand for the next ten years.

Where am I on it? Dunno. All I know is, any rightwinger who tries to blame our problems on illegals is dishonest and trying to avoid the much bigger problems we face, like the most corrupt US government this country has ever had, a quagmire war, many trillions in new debt we can't afford and big oil running things in DC.

I keep forgetting to mention this but one of the women in my cohort has Korean origins.........though I think she was born here like you. However, her parents and grandparents for sure were born in Korea. She just went over a couple of years ago.......her parents gave her a grad. present to go visit the country.

She's really outrageous and a crack up. The other nite the professor was talking to us about multi-culturalism and was looking straight at Ina. Ina saw me looking at her, laughing, and when the instructor turned away, she flipped me the bird. We were laughing so hard on the break. Ina has become "white Ina".

Tonite she was telling me that her brother is in the army and is stationed right by the border. She and her brother speak Korean fluently......do you as well?
