Lets get a signed release from a two year old in the backseat or from a 5 year old on a bike without a helmet. You triviliaze constitutional rights by citing them so stupidly on matters of personal safety. Your response is pathetic not because you didnt think it thru but because you did. When i see you drive by with your seat belt off and your grandchild being hand held in the front seat, i would be happy to make a citizens arrest and put you away in prison.

I think if you go to the National Highway Transportation Safety web site and poke around a little you might find that out. Also, you could go to Consumer Reports. They might have that as well.

I have to differ with you on this. I think the kids don't have a clue what can happen to them in a car if they aren't strapped in properly. There are many more cars on the roads now then when we were growing up.<g>

My oldest, (he's 29 now)when he was 3, we weren't required to put him in a child safety seat. We were in a wreck with him standing up on the bench seat of the truck and he luckly went ass end over tea kettle on to the floorboard. Had the circumstances been different, he could have gone through the windshield and either been hurt real bad or killed.

I think we need to enforce the seat belt and child seat laws
more then we do. Have heftier fines for those who don't put safely buckle their kids in properly. Those kids don't know, the adults do.
