Malaysia? Is India so bad? And the United States was once a British colony too.

The Brits left in disarray the whole African ex-colonies, the whole Caribbean. Point anywhere a Union Jack was planted during the Brit empire and I point you to a troubled spot.

>>Again only the clones Canada, Australia and New Zealand prospered.

Uh, what about the US? Certainly not a clone of GB. Certainly has prospered until current period of financial idiocy.

Also, India -- legal system and Parliament largely a creation of English system.

>>Do you find any Elmat tyep of guy in other country?

Good or bad thing <grin>?

ElM, have you not heard of Mozambique? <The Brits left in disarray the whole African ex-colonies, > Mozambique is in Africa and in 1974, while we were in Portugal, there was disarray in both Portugal and Mozambique. Mozambique became the most pitiful place for quite a while.

It's not that the British left Africa in disarray, it's that the Africans created disarray after the British were forced to remove their good services. Check out Zimbabwe for example. See what has happened with their life expectancy, property rights and economic well-being.

The British left civilization around the world. Check out Hong Kong, which is still highly civilized and wealthy to boot. Singapore was a British system product, achieved by the local yokels, led by Lee Kwan Yew, by closely integrating with the capitalist world.

The USA was a product of British culture too, although Americans are like teenagers who think they arrived at the beginning of time, and invented sex, themselves, their culture and philosophical foundations. The USA grew up and left home, but that doesn't mean they aren't part of the amazing success of the British Empire.

The similarities were in the areas mentioned in the post I responded to, i.e. banking, shopping, entertainment, resorts. Beirut was the place the Middle East went to have fun and to look after their money.

BTW, you really are a chauvinist, aren't you?
