Re: Ok. So I take it your thesis is that it is ok for the elderly to kill themselves, but a terrible sign if young males do? To a point, yes. Although I do admit that elderly killing themselves betrays a sorry state of affairs, it's at least more comprehensible and acceptable for old people suffering from incurable diseases like Alzheimer, cancer,... or who have lost most, if not all, of their loved ones and whose only prospect is a slow, social death inside an asylum. Contrariwise, we must admit that it's much more depressing and disturbing when youths 15-24 years of age, in good health, with a family, take their life.... Gus
