That stupid "Axis of Evil" speech probably cost us an Islamic extremist winning the Iranian election, and accelerated their nuclear program. In a sense you can't blame the Iranians for being defensive either. Look at what Bush did to Saddam. Why shouldn't the Iranians believe they are next? Bush's whole Middle Eastern plan has made the region twice as dangerous, encouraged terrorism against US interests, jacked up oil prices and cost the US a trillion bucks.
