I have been drinking Benzinger Winery's Sauvignon Blanc, having recently been introduced to it. I bought it at a wine tasting for $8.99/bottle. It is not quite as crisp as a pinot grigio, carrying a little more substance, and is delightful.
Their pinot noir is quite good as well.

I love good Sauvignon Blanc. Sir Peter Michael makes some that is hard to find and delicious. Haut Brion makes a small amount that is delicious. I have had others that were less memorable but very good.

disclaimer: neither are anywhere near being under $20 per bottle.
