Congress is supposed to serve the People, and right now the People want a new government, a new president and a new direction. The problem now is that the GOP congress is not serving the people, it's serving its own special interests, and that's why the people are so mad, as they have every right to be. According to Jefferson, public opinion and the truth rule, not elected officials. Elected officials can and should be removed once the people have no faith in them. Impeachment was made easy so that non-criminal presidents who are just unpopular can still be removed without much trouble. Clinton defied that logic though. He was extremely popular even after he was impeached for a personal ethical infraction. So he stayed on.
