Top Cat, If you guys were honest you would admit that all you want to do is to destroy the public educational system in this country, which more than anything else is responsible for the small amount of social mobility we have.

So you know better than CBS and ABC. Ever talked to a school teacher about this sham program of Bush's? I've never met a single one who doesn't think it's a big waste of time and pile of BS. So who does support NCLB? Especially now that we know its scores have been fraudulent?

Rightwingers have always wanted to drain public education by taking away its funding. It's all based on Jim Crow segregation and racism. They don't want their tax dollars to pay for poor minority kids. No Child Left Behind is just a new bait and switch method of undermining public education while pretending to care about it.

Bush invented this "the name sounds good" program which is really a Trojan Horse like his pro air pollution "Clear Skies Initiative". Stick it into the school system and it gives the impression (with cheating on scores) that everything is fine. Meanwhile they underfund the whole thing, drain money from the public system and send money to the parochial schools and "faith-based" organizations.
