One son rode his brother's new BIG motorcycle about 600 miles today to take it to his brother. He beat the bad storm that came in here this afternoon, but as he headed east, it found him in ID about 1 1/2 hours as he was still on the road to his brothers place. Had all the gear, thank goodness, plus the all weather gear we use on our boat. He said it was the worse he's ever ridden through, almost tornado-like!

I think Laz hit that wind today on his way over to the Eastside.

I'm sure glad he's safe!

I don't ride in Houston much. Too much heavy traffic.

I've had a bad wreck before and don't want to experience another like it again. Even though I've been riding since I was 15, I thought those 'ol boys might be able to teach me a thing or two.<g> They did! One was how to ride in the rain and over debris in rain. Tricky but possible. I don't care what the temp is, I wear my Joe Rocket Jacket, long pants, boots, helmet and gloves. I ride because I like to, not to make a fashion statement.

My dumb ass brother-in-law went out to check on his Momma who was staying down the road from where he lived just before hurricane Edith hit Galveston. It was only a CAT 2 but, true to his nature, he went out there with nothing more on him then a pair of shorts. He got caught by a huge gust of wind and by the time they got all the shell picked out of his body the hurricane had came and went. There was only a few places on his entire body that wasn't a raw mess. He hasn't rode since that accident.
