Exxon is far from my favorite company. The way they handled the cleanup from the Exxon Valdez was terrible. But that is a different issue. Exxon's profits are on the high end of what would be expected. But it is far from gouging and more in line with their size and the efficiencies of scale. While it would be nice if they traded off some lower profits for lower prices, I never expect a company to be nice in that regard. Microsoft, OTOH...

I don't like Microsoft, never cared much for Gates. Their OS is the single largest cost in a typical consumer system, and that is just wrong. But people insist on using their products, even to the extent of using IIS instead of Apache. Which is nutty.
