Around '66 copper had been doing what it's doing now, except instead of going into chinese plumbing and wiring it was going to shell casings for LBJ's project, presumably, he was having black men go off to the other side of the world to kill yellow men in ostensible defense of the land his white men had stolen from the red men ... and by '71 the copper market had cooled off a lot, it would come back strong a little later ... this is entirely from memory, but the memory is vivid, as a predecessor company of cch.to treated me very well on the mid-'60s upswing

And that was a politician talking, not a miner ... McDiarmid, rings a bell ... Doublestar is a good little company and i've got a few, as you know, still it's not for their prospects in open-cast mining of Clayoquot sound, lol ... which is not out of the question, nothing is, but ask any local, and note the surprise at the idea ... key would be a deal with the indians, who get a free pass in things like this, but who are subject to various internal problematic phenomena

... back later, sun came out again -g-
