I think the Republicans set the bar too low when they did that. But, be that as it may, it happened and set the precedent.

The illegal wiretapping is pretty straight forward to prove without trying to determine exactly who knew what and when as far as the mandate for going to war. Still, it shouldn't take all that much of an investigation to figure out the truth.

The big thing about the wiretapping is he announced that he doesn't see how any law can restrict him from doing it. A president that sees himself above the law is a serious danger to the Republic.
