I used to own stock in a company that was bought out called Acme Electric. They were doing some interesting work in batteries for possible car applications. They has a top scientist. Lost track of them since the buyout. At a glance. Still in batteries, but for military and aerospace applications. I think they still make chargers for the consumer market.
