Could be. Several people on SI have made fortunes with well-timed bets on one or two stocks. In the long run, I think a little diversification (not too much) and contrary thinking like Miller's is what succeeds.

Right now, I am 35% in treasuries (2 & 3 yr), with the rest in foreign bank stocks (ING, ANZ), some community bank stocks, a few gold plays, commodity stuff (PCRDX, SU, BHP, BG), IX, MIC, CLMS, RSAS, some biotech/pharma stocks, and a very long-term holding in HSY. So I'm probably equally positioned for either continued inflation or disinflation/deflation.

No shorts or puts right now.
