Re: "You aren't referring to any particular poster here, are you?"

LOL!!!!!!!

(Think the shoe might actually fit more then one person on occasion. :)

Re: "As to Rush.... I wonder who his doctors were and what, if anything, they knew about his escalating problem."

Pretty safe bet that's why he used FOUR different doctors in a six month period to get his thousands of pills of 'hillbilly heroin'.

Any SINGLE doctor prescribing THAT MUCH to just one person would have had his license pulled by the D.E.A.

They have pulled the drug prescribing licenses for many doctors who prescribed FAR LESS oxicontin (& even when to SEVERAL patients... not just to ONE!)

The D.E.A. keeps VERY CLOSE tabs on oxicontin prescriptions... no way in Hell any single doctor would have given Rush that many --- unless he didn't care to practice anymore.

"It may not have been an intent he could control, but that goes right to his willingness to admit he sometimes cannot control his needs or desires."

He made a DEAL! He judged that what he took was better than what he might have faced, in his own self interest. No "admissions" required.
