I see.. so it's all back to "selling" the people of the world that we need to use military force to intervene in the affairs of another country, eh??

You were the one that introduced the word "sell". You might go back and check.

ALSO a country in the throughs [I think you mean throws] of a limited civil war, and where various ethnic groups such as the Shi'a and Kurds ARE STILL TARGETED in a deliberate act of what the victims probably believe is genocide??

Egads! And I thought things were going so well in Iraq. I just heard from Bush what a great milestone the Iraqis just met and that Iraqis wanted one government. He didn't say anything about a limited civil war or genocide. He just talked about some tough days ahead. Not nearly as bad as a "crisis" which is where we are with gas prices.

Immediately after Desert Storm, the Shi'a hosted an uprising against their oppressor, the Ba'thist government, and upwards of hundreds of thousands of them were slaughtered as a result. I didn't see anyone "bending the rules" to support them in their cause to fight the genocide that had been perpetrated against them for decades.

An uprising that was encourage by the US. And even though the US had control of the air space they just sat by and watched.

And btw, exactly what kind of "misinformation" am I guilty of purveying?? Specific examples would be helpful, rather than ad hominem attacks against me.

Click back. You clearly stated that Clooney was asking for a US intervention. Clooney isn't, he's asking for a NATO intervention.

Be careful how you answer me on this.. I've worked with quite a few people who were there, and actually involved in the events of "Blackhawk Down". So I've received a bit of their perspective on this matter.

I'll bet it's just as good as your knowledge of intelligence funding.

But when we discover that Abu Mus'ab Al Zarqawi, AN ACKNOWLEDGED MEMBER OF AL QAI'DA is being provided safe harbor and refuge in Iraq, along with the Al Qai'da sub-group, Ansar Al Islam (later Ansar Al Sunnah), people of YOUR ILK couldn't find the intestinal fortitude to apply the same "treatment" to Saddam that we did to the Taliban.

There is a huge difference between Afghanistan and Iraq. Your comparison is trite.

You're all ready to saddle up your trust white steeds, down your Ivory Stetsons, and go off on a humanitarian mission to Darfur

My neighbor has the steeds, but they look more brown to me and I've never seen him in Ivory Stetsons. He's more of a boot guy. Maybe he saves the Ivory Stetsons for Saturday night. I'll defer to you on that, you're The Mythbuster.

Take off the "rose-colored glasses" and think VERY DEEPLY about just how far you're going to be willing to escalate the use of military force to achieve your currently undefined political and humanitarian goals.

ROTFLOL. I find you so-called conservatives to be the most naive group around. You actually think there is a GWOT and you're going to win it. You flip from nation building can't be done to reshaping the middle-east into some sort of democracy. But when it comes to Hamas being elected, democracy isn't so good and you would rather have a corrupt and ineffective [Abbas] government because they just happen to say a few words that you like.

On the one hand, Saddam might pass WMD to terrorists, so you have to invade. On the other hand, the US claims that Iran may have several thousand metric tons of chemical weapons and bulk agents and can produce 1,000 metric tons of agents per year and does nothing at all.

What about the weaponized Sarin the CIA says Syria has. Not worried about Syria passing any of that to terrorists?

Any chance that North Korea might sell off any of there stockpile of biological or chemical weapons to terrorists. If you've got cash, North Korea is pretty happy to sell just about anything.

Go through any of the lists of countries that have chemical and/or biological weapons and ask yourself why Bush doesn't care.

Sleep well,
