DALLAS -- The city of Dallas said the owners of an 86-year-old historic West End warehouse demolished it over the weekend without a permit.

Now, the city may force the owner to rebuild it.

The city attorney said the owner knew the building was historic and could not be demolished without special approval.

The City Council will consider what to do next and could impose fines and penalties on the owner.
