I feel a responsibility to the black folks of africa who are being killed off by the Arabs. Thats what it is Hawk--no more and no less--arab racism added to their religious intolerance.

Kind of like Serbian Racism against Bosnians (who were ethnically of the same stock as Serbs)?

Hell, we're not talking about Arabs here. We're talking about tribal conflict between "ARABIZED" peoples, as well as non-ARABIZED people, sprinkled with a relatively small percentage of actual Arabs who migrated to Sudan centuries ago. But the predominant population is black, hence the very name of Sudan.. "Land of the Blacks".

But I find it particularly IRONIC that Clooney has placed himself in a position of being an advocate of military intervention in Sudan, when it would directly put them in the same situation as we saw in Iraq.. namely foreign oil companies involved in exploiting Sudan's oil wealth and an on-going sectarian civil war (although the one in Sudan is far more active).

From the same link:

Some experts refer to Algeria, Pakistan, China and Russia as the "Darfur Four": Each of these four countries has major oil investments in Sudan and has opposed the U.N. Security Council's plans for arms and oil embargoes.
