I believe there is a companion thread, Tom's previous, which was
weighed down and off topic too much, so Tom brought us here. I appreciate the political when directly linked to the investment or commodity. Such as, do I buy or sell BCM right with Peru possibly heading toward the world of Chavez and Morales? You have illustrated your argument well Dave.

I come to these PM boards primarily to learn about specific stocks, discover new opportunities and hopefully become a more successful investor, I hope that some of my contributions might do the same for others.

I am certainly grateful for what I do gain here, including friendships. Once again I do find myself skimming more in order to stay on topic.

Cheers,
Ogi

Maybe there should be a comment-flag column which can be turned on by the poster (for his post) or administrator which categorizes posts that are psuedo topical or politico-religiously inflammatory but not worthy of flaming/banning when the net worth of the poster's overall contribution is considered.

Most posters on this thread veer in an out of topic from time to time, but overall the "bulk poster" contributes to the general thread fervor despite being marginally on topic at times. You do get focus spree on general hot button topics way-laying the thread, but it always seems to drift back into the mainstay after a suitable period of letting of steam. Perhaps it's healthy all in all.

A pro-con column wouldn't be a bad idea either.
