No, Bushies do manipulate energy prices. The energy gouging and sharp energy spikes began the same week Bush-Cheney were first nominated.

The "energy shortage" on the west coast turned out to be a total fraud carried out by some of Bush-Cheney's best friends and that gouging only stopped when Democrats temporarily got back subpoena powers in the senate. Then the energy shortage miraculously turned into an energy glut.

Also, gouging stopped right after Katrina (when they told us what a shortage there would be) when congress finally called in the Big Oil CEO's and grilled them (though not under oath so they let them lie with impunity).

Furthermore, you ignore the fact that Saudi Prince Bandar offered to bring down gas and oil prices before the 2004 election if GW wanted him to, proving that the cartel called OPEC in conjunction with the Texan big oil companies and a few others (all close Bush-Cheney cronies) can, do and will manipulate prices whenever they damn well feel like it, and there is currently no law on the books nor investigative body to stop them with.

So go talking about CHina and India all you want, and they do count, but don't tell me those countries were growing in the 90's too when gas prices stayed low and stable.

Also a big factor is the war in Iraq and Iranian bombing threat. Those two factors probably add 15% to the prices these days. However, before the war top Bushies promised us that taking out Saddam would lower oil prices. As usual, they lied.
