You know, you conservatives are always romanticizing the 1950's when things were simpler, our values were strong and America seemed to be in the right place.

The income tax rate in the 1950's was 91% on incomes over $200,000 and the capital gains tax was 25%. And the "rich" STILL had plenty of money! Go figure!

re: Like you keep reminding us, JF, it's the middle class that's going to pay. But what's your solution? More taxes that hurt the middle class more than the upper classes? Boy oh boy talk about dumb.

The start is to roll back the Bush tax cuts. As you well know the vast majority of that benefit went to the wealthy, not the middle class and certainly not the working poor.

What do you have against fiscal responsibility? Pay as you go? You remember, the honorable way to manage your life and the country.

Oh, I forgot, you are a Bush, Neocon Republican with no self discipline. Boy oh boy am I dumb.

John

The rich need to start paying their taxes again as do the corporations who are making record profits by sending US jobs overseas and gouging US consumers.

At least back to Clinton levels. We have a mountain of new debt and Bush built that mountain on the backs of the middleclass, giving the rich a free pass. Someone needs to start paying that back and only the rich and corps can afford to.

If you don't believe me read the book "Perfectly Legal" (by a GOP tax expert) who exposes the fine print in the Bush tax code which gives away trillions to the top 1% at the expense of everyone else.
