Mary was probably just 12 or 13 when she was betrothed.
(although of royal creed, to an elderly simple gentleman, luckily with access to a donkey)

Under those circumstances that donkey was a (-nother) really great hero as she gave birth just hours later, that same night, and it all worked out fairly well.
(she must have been a fairly healthy young girl, too, but maybe they had good prenatal training and care in those days, although no medicare??)

Those were the times, luckily there were donkeys then too.

Thus have those be-swedish be-spoken be-too, not be-just be-us, be-deeply be-inspired by the be-thoughts from be-ST Petersburg.

Btw, Russia too has this little GerryMander problem, but only a very little-little one.

That is, they have a mixed system, some easily manipulated single-seat-districts but in combination with an overall proportional system.

Unluckily, based on party-lists, but as good as one can come up with if the population is larger than some hundreds of millions.

Gerry.

That was why this UK EU representative, deeply frustrated, shouted that now UK is the most backward democracy in europe.
(some years after 1989, but even UK might now, any decade, now, do what they should have done so many-many decades ago, get rid of their funny two-party-winner-takes-all-system)

Btw, UK euro-members are not elected through those funny single-seat districts, but....ouch...through funny party-list systems..

UK will be funny to watch through their next 2-3 decades..
(While St Petersburg is mostly an incrementally increasing joy to watch, especially the Ayn Rand Museum, those stairs)
