I completely agree with your assessment, QS. BTW, this was posted at the WSJ about an hour ago. Note it has tomorrow's date on it: Green Returns to Sun Microsystems May 3, 2006 Sun Microsystems Inc.'s new chief executive, Jonathan Schwartz, moved to strengthen his company's executive ranks Tuesday with the appointment of a new software director who is also a former longtime Sun employee. Effective immediately, Mr. Schwartz said, Richard Green takes over as executive vice president of Sun Software, overseeing Sun's Solaris Enterprise System, the Solaris Operating System, the Java Enterprise System, Sun's N1 management software, Sun Studio and Java Studio developer tools. It is the first major executive appointment for Mr. Schwartz, who was named Sun CEO last week as longtime chief executive and co-founder Scott McNealy stepped aside. Mr. Green rejoins Sun after less than two years as executive vice president of products for Cassatt Corp., a closely held software products and services company. Before his time at Cassatt, Mr. Green spent 14 years at Sun where he led several software programs involving Solaris and Java. He succeeds John Loiacano, who left Sun in March to become senior vice president of creative solutions for Adobe Systems Inc. online.wsj.com Lynn
